I love this photograph by Ann Hamilton because it’s content is so unexpected.  The photograph is both terrifying and captivating, as the subject seems to be mid scream with hair to replace teeth.  The contours in this picture are so interesting because the composition is so unforeseen.

This sculpture, titled “Bear,” was created by Tim Hawkinson.  It is located in a courtyard formed by three engineering buildings, and weighs 180 tons.  I really like this  sculpture because the natural material that makes up the boulders contrasts the steel and glass that make up the surrounding buildings, providing a stark comparison between nature and modern architecture.  “Bear” relates to this week’s topic, because by looking at the sculpture in relation to the surroundings, one can see the contrast between natural and man made contours.
